All development or production activities authorized by the lease shall be conducted in accordance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations. The lessee(s) shall, before commencing any operations on the leased lands, inform themselves of and then abide by the laws, rules and regulations affecting such operations. Compliance with state and federal laws, rules and regulations shall be the sole responsibility of the lessee and not the responsibility of the department.

The filing of a bond or other security as a lease requirement does not remove the obligation to file bonds required by other laws.
