PREPROPOSAL STATEMENT OF INQUIRY

Subject of Possible Rule Making: The department of social and health services (DSHS) is considering amendments to WAC 388-106-1700 What definitions apply to supportive housing?, 388-106-1705 What services may I receive under supportive housing?, 388-106-1720 Am I eligible for supportive housing funded services?, 388-106-1740 What are my rights when I receive supportive housing services in a setting owned by a service provider?, 388-106-1750 Are there limits to the supportive housing services I receive?, and 388-106-1760 Do I have the right to an administrative hearing regarding supportive housing services?; and other related rules as appropriate. These rules are related to supportive housing programs that have been updated through an administrative process. They also need to be updated in WAC. Other necessary changes and corrections related to grammar, numerical representation, consistency, and inclusive language may also be included.
Reasons Why Rules on this Subject may be Needed and What They Might Accomplish: The purpose of these changes is to define DSHS's supportive housing program rules as well as clarify those standards and expectations. These changes are in response to ongoing program changes over time as approved by the department.
Other Federal and State Agencies that Regulate this Subject and the Process Coordinating the Rule with These Agencies: Health care authority foundational community supports program. The WAC is included as a reference in applicable areas.
Process for Developing New Rule: Collaborative rule making. DSHS welcomes the public to take part in developing the rules. Anyone interested should contact the staff person identified below. At a later date, DSHS will file a proposal within the office of the code reviser with a notice of proposed rule making. A copy of the proposal will be sent to everyone on the mailing list and to anyone who requests a copy.
