Voluntary credential and title protection.
(1) Individuals who practice peer counseling or provide peer support services are not required to obtain the peer support specialist certification to provide peer services in the state of Washington.
(2) The titles of certified peer support specialist and certified peer support specialist trainee are protected and shall only be used by an individual who has an active certification under chapter 18.420 RCW and this chapter.
